I recently managed to get the moped running properly, albeit for only a short time. On nearly all motorcycle carbs the "choke" is actually an enrichment circuit that dumps a lot of extra fuel behind the throttle valve. Even when warm, a richened mix shouldn't kill the engine, at worst it should just chug a bit. I can't even push the choke halfway in before it sputters, becomes gutless, and dies. All the screws are set at 3 turns. One problem the previous owner told me about was the choke -- the bike needed the choke to be on all the time or else it stalls. At each stop it would stall but always started after the fact. When the switch is turned to “ ” (off) position, the engine will not start or stops the engine. As soon as the choke is pulled up beyond the slide, it dies.
